Loblolly - epilogue
Not everything we cook in the Colony's kitchen is a success.
The original loblolly recipe included two options for cooking the rice - boiling and frying. Towards the end of the week, Lori decided to give the "fried rice" version a go. The result? Not so good. In fact, it was down right disastrous. The process removed the seasoning from the inside of our cast iron pot and turned the rice an unappealing shade of deep grey. According to Lori, even the local cats wouldn't touch it!
